These notoriously slow starts under Bilic are really beginning to add up now
Our League record since Boxing day......

Southampton (home) - goal down in the first 10 and all over the shop for a good half hour
Bournemouth (away) - straight on to the defence and a goal down within 20 minutes
Newcastle (away) - 2 down in 15 minutes against a team desperately short of confidence
Man City (home) - penalty conceded after 10mins and Aguero could well of got himself a hat trick within half hour
Villa (home) - bottom of the table down and outs and yet still able to run the show early doors at Upton Park
Southampton (away) - goal down after 10 minutes thanks to sloppy defensive work and all over the shop before that

Fucks going on ?????

I actually thought it was to give the opposition a false sense of security, before we come out , second half, guns blazing

The players on to the pitch that is. Not the fans in a scouse way.

Sven

Think you've mistaken this thread which is critical about our slow starts in recent games with one about having poor results

I actually think recent results have been OK. Still takes us ages to get going though

Also went one up in under a minute. Wasn't so much a slow start as a crap piece of defending by Jenkinson.

I preferred last season when we were UP AND AT EM from the off.

was thinking this last night, once or twice you get away with it

the amount of times its happened now is no coincidence. Seems to be the tactics first deployed are wrong and then second half we give ourselves work to do to turn it around

Said this at Half time sat, it a thing

However, under BFS we seem to finish poorly and loads of points dropped.

Least we are in games at half time and look to push on in the 2nd half. 6 defeats in 30 odd games is decent.

Re: These notoriously slow starts under Bilic are really beginning to add up now
Got to say, big thing I have noticed from home games this season is how awful we have been in the first half. I keep asking how it is only 0-0 or 0-1.

Southampton we were atrocious first half, how we took 3 points from that game on the back of that first half was incredible.

Leicester (Home) - Loss
Bournemouth (Home) - Loss
Norwich (Home) - Draw
Sunderland (Away) - Sunderland went down to 10 - Draw
Bournemouth (Away) - Win
Newcastle (Away) - Loss
Villa (Home) - Villa went down to 10 - Won, eventually.
Southampton (Away) - Southampton went down to 10 - Still lost.

I'd say we didn't show up in the first half for all of the above. With 24 points on offer from those we only took 8.

They were all winable games (barring probably Leicester as the form they are in and Southampton). But if we had turned up the first half we could give any of those teams a real game.

It's a 90 minute game. It's no coincidence that films are also 90 minutes long.

Like all good films, the ending is where we blow the place up and get the girl.

Barring Newcastle, I'd say we did give them all a game?

We can't play well for 90 mins, 38 games a fucking season.

People have short memories.

Re: These notoriously slow starts under Bilic are really beginning to add up now
It's definitely become a common theme this season of having a poor first half, not all games but a high number.
